I offer my poems as a service to humanity.

Poetry is a vehicle to process emotions. My poetry evolves from journal writing about my deeply personal, yet universal life experiences of love, loss and grief.

Musican, mother, poet, artist… philosopher.

Nannette Foley was born and raised in Littleton, MA, the fifth child in a talented family of eleven. Growing up in the middle of this large clan, Nannette found solitude in the woods, where she first learned to listen to her heart. She attended Lowell State College receiving a BA in French Horn Performance. For over 45 years, she has been a professional freelance musician and teacher in the greater Boston area. In addition to performing locally, Nannette has performed  internationally in Barbados, China, Switzerland and Italy, where she studied for a year.

Besides her musical career, Nannette has served in many other capacities. She operated a home daycare, worked in elder care, was a teaching assistant and a tutor for special education students.  She is the proud mother of two daughters, a close friend, advocate and confidant to many. Her calm and compassionate nature has drawn people of all ages to her empathic ears. All of these experiences and conversations have shaped and influenced her creative writing.

Her first published poem was Playing My Horn featured in The Horn Call, Journal of the International Horn Society, in May 2007. It was also published in the Cornucopia Newsletter and Cornucopia, The Book, 2012 and in Fine Lines Journal, Spring 2021. Love, Loss and Living - A Spiritual Journey and Journal is Nannette’s first book release. Currently, she is working on her next book, Poetry and Prose - Carole’s Story: Peace, Love and Light - a personal response to her sister's experience living with and dying from cancer. Nannette resides in Lexington, MA and enjoys taking care of her two wonderful grandchildren.
